Chapter 23
Chapter 23
When Willow got back to the apartment, the moment she stepped inside, she was hit with the scent of something
delicious.
Her little sweetheart, her youngest, had already prepared lunch.
Golden scrambled eggs wrapped around perfectly fluffed rice, filled with juicy shrimp balls, sliced sausages, tender meat cubes, diced carrots, and string beans.
Just looking at it made her stomach growl.
As soon as the three kids saw her, they lit up and ran toward her with excitement in their eyes.
“Mama!”
Willow smiled, her lips curling upward, and just like that, the stress and anger from earlier melted away.
Her kids were her cure–all. No matter how hard her day was, one look at their little faces and everything felt okay
again.
She scooped one into her arms, kissed another, her heart full of joy.
“Did you take care of your business, Mama?” Brad asked.
Willow shook her head, “Not yet. Looks like we’ll need to stay in Santawill City for a few more days.”
“Why didn’t it work out?”
“The person I need to meet is out of town on a business trip. I have to wait until he returns.”
She didn’t tell them the real reason she came back to Santawill City.
The kids had no idea Damien even existed.
She didn’t want them to know what happened all those years ago. They were just children… what they needed was to grow up happy and healthy. Adult problems weren’t theirs to worry about.
“Alright, no more questions. Mama will figure everything out eventually. Now let’s eat!”
“Okay!”
After lunch, the three little ones went down for their nap.
Willow sat on the bed and started counting her money.

Chapter 23
All she had left in the world… was less than ten thousand dollars.
So poor…
They had to pay for housing, for food.
Her three boys were still young, didn’t eat much, but they were growing… she couldn’t let them live off plain steamed buns.
Fruits, veggies, milk, eggs, seafood, meat… none of it could be missing from their diet.
When she did the math, the cost of raising four people wasn’t small.
And these few thousand dollars wouldn’t last long.
No money in her pocket, panic in her heart.
Willow figured she needed to find some part–time work… something with daily pay, if possible.
After all, Damien’s side said he was out of town, and who knew when he’d come back?
She couldn’t wait until she was down to her last coin to go job hunting.
But in a world that valued degrees and certificates, she had neither.
She couldn’t even apply for the jobs she really wanted.
“Sigh…” Willow let out a long breath.
Every time she hit this wall, she couldn’t help but feel bitter.
She had made it into a top university, but look how things turned out…
Life really had messed with her.
The past? Too painful to revisit.
After browsing online for a while and finding nothing ideal, she finally gave in.
She decided to go for a job that paid well, no matter what.
Comparing all the options… bartending paid the most.
Daily payout. 380 dollars a night, plus 2% sales commission.
She didn’t like the scene, but… thinking of money made her give in.

Chapter 23
At 7 p.m. sharp, Willow showed up at Midnight Life Studios.
Midnight Life Studios… the drunkard’s paradise, the city’s most lavish, most high–end nightclub.
A money pit where only the wealthy or powerful came to play.
In just over an hour, Willow had sold three bottles of alcohol.
Each bottle was over ten grand, and just the commission alone had earned her more than a thousand dollars.
This world… if it wasn’t all about degrees and titles, then it was all about looks.
And Willow had them.
Pretty face, killer figure, a lovely voice… and hands so beautiful they looked sculpted.
The way she spoke, poured wine… it was a whole experience.
Naturally, she was popular.
But being too pretty also brought trouble.
Soon enough, someone set their eyes on her.
“You drink this bottle. I’ll pay for it.”
The speaker was Brian… Nancy’s second uncle.
A notorious pervert in Santawill City.
Your classic sleazy old creep… ugly, greasy, and addicted to women.
Willow didn’t know him and blinked at the demand. “Me? Drink it?”
“Yeah. You. Not a single drop left.”
“Uhm… that doesn’t seem right? This bottle was for you all to enjoy. And it’s expensive…”
“I say it’s right, so it is. It’s ten grand. You drink it, I’ll pay.”
As he spoke, Brian’s eyes roamed over Willow’s body with disgusting intent.
Willow knew instantly… this guy was a creep.
She swallowed her urge to punch him and forced a smile.
“I’m really sorry. I took cold medicine earlier and I’m not allowed to drink.”

The old chap immediately got annoyed.
“Then take the bottle and get lost. We don’t want it anymore.”
Willow blinked in shock. “The club has a rule… once a bottle is opened, it can’t be returned.”
“Oh? Did I tell you to open it? That was all you. If it’s not refundable, you pay for it.”
Willow clenched her fists and kept her temper in check.
“You told me to open it, so I did. There should be cameras in this VIP room. We can check the footage.”
Her words triggered an outburst of laughter.
“She’s clearly new. Cameras in a bar? What if someone wants to… do something fun? What a joke.”
Willow bit her lip. She really didn’t know how these places worked… this was her first time.
Someone spoke up, mocking her.
“Girl, being noticed by Mr. Brian is a blessing. You should take the hint. Do you even know who he is? It’d scare you. But if you serve him well, you’ll be rich in no time.”
Willow could tell this guy had status.
Now they were trying to frame her, and if she fought back, she’d lose.
In front of the rich, people like her were nothing.
Ten grand… most folks couldn’t make that in a year, but these people could burn through several bottles in one night.
So what could she do?
If that price got dumped on her, she might as well just die.
She didn’t have that kind of money.
Willow stayed silent for a few seconds. Then she forced another smile.
“It’s my fault. I didn’t understand how things work. Mr. Brian, this place is so noisy… how about we go somewhere quieter to talk, just the two of us?”
Brian perked up immediately, letting out a couple of sleazy chuckles as he got to his feet.
“Good, good, let’s find a quieter place to… have a deep conversation.”

“Yeah, yeah! Get real deep in there… hahaha!”
Their laughter was laced with vulgar intent.
Willow felt nauseated.
She swallowed the disgust, forced a polite smile, and turned to leave the room.
Coincidentally, Damien had just stepped out of the elevator.
He happened to glance over and saw Willow slipping into the emergency exit stairwell.
He frowned.
The very next second, Brian stumbled out of the VIP room, practically panting as he rushed toward the same exit.
“Mmm, baby, here I come… hehehe…”
Behind the safety door lay a dimly lit corridor.
The kind of place where things happened.
Shadowy, quiet, and deserted… a haven for desperate men and women looking for a quick fix.
“I love girls like you. One look and you had me hooked. Don’t worry, baby, I’ll treat you real good.
Please me, and I’ll make sure you’re well taken care of.
Look at this sweet little mouth… now get on your knees and give me a taste…”
The implication was sickening.
Suddenly…
“AHHH!” Willow screamed.
Nico’s face turned pale.

Damien ‘s brows furrowed tighter.
He didn’t want to get involved.

What he saw next was nothing short of shocking…
An utterly unbelievable scene.
