CHAPTER 66
ARIA’S POV
Weeks passed, and although Neal and I did not hear any rumours about our relationship, I can bet that they were all speaking ill behind our backs. We never tried to reveal the truth to dispel the rumors or stop the gossips, because our private life is no one’s business..
I believe Adam is still be believing those rumors, but who cares! His opinion does not matter to me anymore.
Today is a significant day for me–a grand charity auction featuring numerous antique pieces which mostly elderly people would be fascinated about, and I have always been passionate about.
Upon arriving, I notice the venue is bustling with people. However, being the general manager of Jackson Paragon, I am accorded a VIP seat, ensuring I have the best view of the exquisite items up for bid.
As the auction commences, I watch intently as various items are presented and bids start flying Despite the impressive array of antiques, none catch my eye. I remain patient, waiting for that one special piece that will capture my interest.
As the auction progresses, a particular piece immediately captures my attention. Its intricate design and unique features seem familiar, sparking a sense of recognition. I know I have seen it somewhere before, and the urge to possess it grows stronger.
As I gaze at the necklace, memories flood back. I recall seeing it with Grandpa Miller, who once told me it belonged to his late wife. Its intricate design and sentimental value make it irresistible; I know I have to win this bid, but I ask myself why is it even here at the auction.
Panic sets in as I start to think that perhaps Grandpa Miller is bankrupt and might be present at the auction, forced to sell this cherished family heirloom. My mind races with worry, and I scan the room anxiously, hoping to catch a glimpse of him and confirm my fears.
As I speak to the host, he announces that the necklace is indeed from Elodie Miller who just wants to auction it herself to show off. My eyes begin searching for her. But when my eyes land on Elodie and Eva, they are both enjoying the auction, looking relaxed and cheerful.
This realization makes my panic subside slightly, but my curiosity and concern only grow stronger.
It better not be what I’m thinking right now. Knowing Elodie and Eva, I can bet they’ve stolen this necklace to flaunt at the auction. The thought makes my blood boil, and I decide to keep a close eye on them. If they’re up to no good, I won’t let them get away with it.
This antique piece is so dear to Grandpa that I can’t imagine he would ever auction it. The chances are high that Grandpa doesn’t even know the necklace is missing. The realization fills me with a mix of anger and determination.
I scanned the room, searching for any sign of Adam, but he was nowhere to be found. This would be the last place he would want to be, especially if it involved Grandpa’s cherished necklace. The thought of what Adam would do if he knew what was happening made my resolve even stronger.
Their eyes locked onto mine, and the horror on their faces was palpable. It was as if they knew I had uncovered their secret, and they were afraid of what I might do next.
Instead of giving me the chance to question them, Elodie is angry and she yells at me as if she owns the place.
“What the hell are you doing here?!”
“What do people come here for?”

Did they believe they could intimidate me? Or did they think they could conceal anything from my notice?
Eva’s voice pierces the air, laced with indignation and authority. She stands before me, lands planted firmly on her hips, her posture exuding a sense of dominance. It’s as if she’s assuining the role of an frate instructor
reprimanding a disobedient student.
“How dare you talk back to my mother?”
I furrow a brow at her and smirk.
