Chapter 37 

“Could I please get another glass of wine. I’m not sure where the other server is“, she said

older woman yelled making a beeline towards me. I let out a 

sigh. Thw woman got closer and stood looking at me. Everyone was focused on us.

“Why is everyone blaming me for their fucked–up choices. Listen lady and listen fucking carefully, I am at my limit with people doing shit and saying shit to me. Now I have a temper that would rival the fucking devil do not tempt me. Ivy got kicked out because she fucked up. Do I look like I have the entire Havenwood in the palm of my fucking hands“. 

“You little bitch” she yelled slapping me. I couldn’t help but laugh. looked at her and backhanded her. 

“See this is what I try to avoid. No don’t ever do this sit again or a sap will be the least of it“. 

I turned and looked at the woman. “I’ll be right back with your glass of wine“. 

I headed towards the kitchen and returned with her wine. When my shift ended, I went back to Miles‘ Place. The next day Miles and I went apartment hunting. I found a small one–bedroom apartment not far from the campus. He helped me move my stuff over. 

When I was paying that’s when I realized I had the Two million in the account. A few days before the semester started, I went to the bank and withdrew the two Million. I left it with Darla, she would return it. 

When school started I doubled down on my studies I asked about the accelerated course and told I would be informed later. I went to school and work. Darla made sure I was Kept away from the private room Sterling was using. I guess he was onto me because he was now in the dining hall. After that I shifted back to the private rooms. 

Two months of this back and forth and it was pissing me off. Today was Friday and we were heading out later tonight. When I walked into the private room he was there and so was the same woman. 

“Good evening what can I get you“. 

“Oh, it’s you again. Why don’t you smile“? she asked 

“You only smile if you have a reason to smile“. 

“Well that’s sad. My name is Lana. What is yours“? she asked. 

“Sky. Now can I take your order“. 

“Sure she said“, 

I took their orders and left. I was already out the door when I forgot they didn’t say what they wanted to drink so I was heading 

back when I stopped at the door when I heard my name. 

LANA: Asher you are making her suffer. Tell her the truth so she’ll understand why you did what you did. 

DORIAN: stop calling me Asher, I can’t not yet. I just need more time. As long you’re here, she’s going to stay alive. Emelda caug Anya a few days ago and beat her. That is why you’re here to make sure she stays alive. 

LANA: very well. Make sure you have a handle on Zenith then we’ll begin. But you’ll have to hide her away when you start. the….

Sorry I forgot to ask what do want to drink? 

“Red wine please“, Lana said 

“Sure“, 

I walked out and went to the kitchen, I put their order in and too the wine back. All through the night, I could feel his eyes on me. When I returned with the check he was gone, and Lana was there alone. 

“Have a seat“, she said 

“Sorry I’m not allowed to“. 

“Okay. My name is Lana Delarosa. I am from Belgium. I have known porlan since I was twenty–five years old. And he has never asked for mine or, or comrades‘ help. But now he is because he is trying to protect something that means the world to him” she 

said. 

I’m figuring, he needs help to protect Anya. 

“Umm I’m not sure how that relates to me but okay“. 

She stood up and smiled at me. “He is always here. He’ll always be close to his most priceless treasure“, she said smiling and walking out. What the hell was that about. When I opened the checkbook, I just shook my head. After we clocked out. Miles, Darla, Daphne, Maya and I left for the club. In the past two months I’ve gotten to know Daphne and Maya better.
