Chapter 48
I was leaving my second class of the day when my phone rang.
“Hey Miles“?
“You told him“? he asked.
“Yes and No.I just told him That I wanted Two million that Darla was sick and that was it. What happened“?
“He was here. He said you said she wasn’t well. Aunt Darla tried to e but he called bullshit. So, she told him. He told her he would handle it. He called someone and then gave them Aunt Darla’s name he told her his private jet will take her, and he’ll handle the finance part he umm.” Miles said hesitating.
“He what Miles“?
“He said the only thing he wants in return from us was for us to keep you close and make sure no one hurts you. Sky he loves you“,
Miles said
“Yea I know. I’m worried about his family though”
“Don’t worry about then. He’ll handle them. I’ll be running the club in Aunt Darla’s absence. I’ll need to hire someone“, he said
“What the fuck am I Miles? I’ll be in for my shift tonight“, I said ending the call.
After my last Class I headed home and changed and went to the club I texted him letting him know where I was going and what time I would be back. He didn’t answer. I got to the club and used the back door. I went to talk to miles then I Got my uniform and began working.
It was halfway through my shift that I saw Anya and a woman walk in. Everyone was staring and whispering. I acted like I didn’t see her. About thirty minutes later Dorian Walked in with Lana. Dorian acted like he didn’t see Anya; he said something to Lana. Everyone was watching to see what he would do. When
Lana saw me, she made a beeline for me.“Hey pretty girl. That is Jalisa Lancaster. Your sister. Do you trust Dorian“, she said
“Oh okay. I trust Asher“? I said looking at her.
“Damn. How can you trust a psychopath” she said, and I couldn’t help but laugh.
“Because he loves me and would kill anyone that hurts me“,
“Thank God. He’s crazy about you.“? she said
“Same Here“. I said
“I’ll see you in a few days we need to discuss something. I’ll see you later” she said making her way back to the Table. Throughout the evening the dining hall became more crowded. I guess everyone called their friends because Anya was here, and so was Dorian. Lana started talking about their wedding.
I was at the bar talking to Maya when I heard my name being yelled, everyone heard it.
“Skylar, you’re going to be my bridesmaid. We’re getting married” Lana Yelled, and the whispering started. I turned around shaking my head. Maya was looking at me.

“Damn you know Sterling’s woman“. She asked.
“AND WHO THE FUCK IS SHE 7 I heard someone yell. When I turned around Anya was standing Infront of Dorian’s table. Everyone had their phones out. Miles walked out and came out. He walked past us.
“This is an establishment. Please refrain from raising your voice, other diners are trying to eat“, Miles said looking at Anya.
“This doesn’t concern you” Anya said slapping Miles and I put the menus down and walked over to them. When she saw me, she decided to grab a bottle of wine and try to hit me. I grabbed it and slapped her.
“He won’t hit you, but I will. Get out“.
Jalisa stood up and came to me. “And just exactly who the fuck do you think you are“? she asked, looking at me.
“JALISA HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO YOUR SISTER LIKE THAT“? I heard the voice yell. I saw Diana and Robert walking towards us. I took a peek at Dorian, and he just smiled. He knew this would happen. The entire dining hall was in silence. They were enjoying the drama.
“What sister mom“? Jalisa asked.
“She is our daughter our biological daughter” Robert said
“What? Jalisa asked, looking at me then at them.
“Can I have everyone’s attention. I would like to make an announcement. This young woman here is Skylar Raines. She is actually Nila Lancaster or daughter that has been missing for twelve years“, Robert said looking around and I just rolled my eyes.
The murmuring started and didn’t stop. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, so I took it out. I didn’t look at him. I read the message and put my phone away.
