Chapter 50

Monday morning when I got to the college campus. Diana and Robert were waiting there for me. I got out of the car and made my way in. I just ignored them. Some students were milling around probably hoping for some kind of drama.

“Nila, we need to talk” Diana Said, trying to walk towards me.

“My name is Skylar, and I don’t know you“, I said walking through the doors ignoring their yelling. After my last exam for the day, I went to the club for my shift then back home. Asher hadn’t texted or called since he left Saturday morning and I was starting to get pissed at him.

By Friday I was royally pissed the fuck off. He disappeared and so did Lana, I hadn’t seen their shadow all week, Robert and Diana showed up every day trying to speak to me. Samuel was still watching me, and I have no idea why. When I got to the club, I found Miles in Darla’s office. I walked in and took a seat.

“Let me guess you haven’t seen him all week or he hasn’t given you the Dick that’s why you’re bitching” he said

I threw the stress ball at him. “All week this fucker… he’s in the doghouse. I feel like clubbing tonight. I’m done with Exams for now“,

“Fine. I could use a night out too“, he said closing the book.

By nine that night. Miles, Daphne, Maya, Archie and I were dancing in the club. When it became too crowded, we went bar hopping. I walked through my door at two in the morning and stopped short. He was sitting in the living room with a laptop and papers.

I ignored him and went and took a shower and went to bed, Within minutes I was out. When I woke up, I grabbed a shower and got dressed. I went to the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee. When I turned around, he was leaning against the door in sweatpants alone looking at me. I wasnt about to get distracted.

I walked out of the kitchen and walked past him. I grabbed my handbag and the car keys and walked out of the apartment. As the elevator was closing, he was standing in the hallway looking at me. I guess he knew I was pissed. I picked Miles up and we went out shopping. We got Manicure and Pedicures. When I got back it was close to eight.

The minute I walked into the room he was there. I walked out but he grabbed me pulling me into him.

“Stop acting this way. It doesn’t suit you”. He said holding me tighter. I didn’t answer him, I didn’t even look at him. I was too pissed at him.

“Lana and I were returning from Everdale. We went to check on something. On our way back, someone ran us off the road, Lana got hurt. The car flipped a couple of times. I’m fine but she got hurt. I Had to send her back home So she could get treated. She came here to help me keep you safe and she got hurt. I spent the past week traveling and with the security details, trying to find out who it was that did it. It must be someone from my family Or yours, but we haven’t found anything as yet“.

“I’m sorry for not calling you. I’m sorry for not texting you. But I didn’t want you to be worried“.

I looked at him. Suddenly I wasn’t angry at him anymore. I was worried about something else. If something had happened to him, how would I have known? I pulled away from him.

“And you? If something had happened to you, what am I supposed to do? How would I know? You left Samuel to watch me. Why couldn’t you? You know what? It doesn’t even matter. Now move. I have stuff to do“.
