Two bodyguards were stationed at the door of the private room of the club.
Kendrick led Valerie forward, but one of the bodyguards. raised his hand and blocked their path with his arm.

Kendrick seized the opportunity. “Kayson, if you’re mad, direct them at me. Don’t make things difficult for Valerie!”
Before Kayson could respond, Tyson’s mocking voice rang out. “Tsk, you’re really protective of her. There definitely is something going on between you two!”
Valerie’s expression soured. But she knew that Kayson and Tyson had always been on good terms.

Kayson reclined back on the sofa. Tyson understood his intention, tossed aside the cards in his hand, stood up, and draped his arm over Kendrick’s shoulder.

Just as the atmosphere seemed to reach a standstill, Kayson suddenly said icily, “If you want to drink, go over there. Valerie, stay here.”
