Chapter 60

Miles

I was sitting in Aunt Darla’s office, and we were talking. She came back home last week.

“Aunt Darla I’m really worried about Sky. I haven’t seen her, nor has she responded to any of our calls and texts. I see Dorian about in town but no Skylar. No one on campus knows where she is. I called the Orphanage and she’s not there“,

“Did something happen between them“? she asked

“Not that I know of“,

I was truly worried about her. I haven’t spoken to her since that night at the beach.

“Maybe she’s with Dorian” Aunt Darla said

“Even then he would let us know”

She pulled her phone out and dialed a number. She put the phone on speaker mode and put it on the table. The phone rang twice when it was answered but the person didn’t say anything.

Darla: don’t say anything. Two weeks. She’s not at the orphanage, nor here with us. No one. I mean no one has seen her in two weeks. No calls, no messages, nothing. We are worried about her.

DORIAN: We had an argument. If she isn’t with you, where is she.

MILES: YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE

I jumped out of the chair and ran out of the club. I jumped into my car and raced down the road. I drove straight to her apartment/ and rushed in. I used the stairs instead of the elevator. When I got to her apartment door. I started banging on the door.“Sky are you in there open up“.

I started kicking the door. I kicked the door until I heard a crack. When I kicked the door in I ran into the living room. Everything was locked up. When I ran into her room, I stopped short. I jumped onto the bed.

“Sky come on“, I began shaking her nut she wasn’t responding. I pulled my phone out and called for an ambulance. I heard running. When I turned Dorian ran into the room.

“What the fuck did you do to her“?, I yelled at him.

He came over and grabbed her. I heard the sirens; I ran into the bathroom on the off chance there was something and I found the empty bottle.

“Come on Sky, open your eyes. come on baby, I’m sorry” he said holding onto her.

“If she dies then I’ll never forgive you. I’ll make sure all of Havenwood knows she died because of you“, I tossed the empty sleeping pill bottle at him.

“Fuck. Skylar this isn’t funny“, he said shaking her and I could see him losing his mind, I didn’t care he deserved it for…ing. her. When the EMTS rushed in they took her from him.

“She drank sleeping pills. We don’t know how many or how long ago, I said

“We need to get her to the hospital to pump her stomach” they said putting her on the stretcher and taking her out. I followed

When we got to the hospital, they rushed her in. After eight hours Iw the doctor walking towards me.

“My friend“?, I asked

“Is lucky. We managed to pump her stomach. She’s in her room resting” he said and I let out a sigh of relief. I went up and found her room, when I walked in, she was awake. The smile and light she always had in her eyes was no longer there. I pulled a chair and sat next to her.

“Talk to me baby girl“.

“I was wrong. It was my fault, so he left me” she said quietly.

“Then why didn’t you apologize Sky“?

“Because I thought I would be better off without him“, she said, and she started crying. I held her hands. She loved him and he loved her, and they were both too stubborn and set in their ways to see it.

“Why didn’t you come to me“,

“I didn’t want to be told I told you so. I love him and I gave him a reason to leave me, and he went back to her. I couldn’t…“, she said through tears.
