Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Damien studied Willow, a flicker of something strange flashing in his eyes.
It wasn’t just because she was stunning… though she was, in an effortlessly striking way. No, it was something else. Something… familiar.
Like he’d seen her before.
But the more he looked, the less he could place where or when.
Face stoic, Damien walked over and sat at the head of the long conference table. He noticed how she was staring daggers at him, like he was some sort of mortal enemy. His brows pinched together.
Her kid had trashed his car, and instead of apologizing, she dared look at him like that?
Small frame, big guts. Just like her son.
“Why did you tell your kid to destroy my car?” Damien opened, skipping all pleasantries, slapping the accusation
down like a file on a desk.
Willow’s whole body trembled. Her fists clenched tightly at her sides as emotion surged through her.
She couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
He really didn’t recognize her?
Was it because he hadn’t seen her clearly that night? Or… was he pretending?
Cautious not to tip her hand too early, Willow took a deep breath and asked quietly, testing the waters, “You… you really don’t recognize me?”
Damien ‘s reply was crisp and cold. “No.”
“You don’t?” Her voice cracked.
“Should I?”
Willow stared at him, stunned silent.
What the hell was going on?
He looked just like Brad and Mac. If not a perfect match, then at least eighty percent alike. But now he was saying he didn’t know her… and he didn’t seem to be lying.

Even his voice… it didn’t quite match that wild, feral man from that night.
Willow held her breath and stared at him again, heart pounding. But she didn’t explode. After all, there were plenty of people in the world who shared similar features.
She exhaled and forced herself to focus.
First, handle the immediate problem.
Her brows furrowed tightly. “If you really don’t know me, then why did your men drag me here like some criminal? You know that’s illegal, right?”
Damien ‘s expression darkened. Nico reminded her coldly, “My boss already told you. Your kid destroyed his car.”
“What?” Willow blinked in disbelief. “There must be some mistake! We’re not from around here… we just arrived in Stantawill city today. How could my son possibly have had time to damage your car? We…
“Show her the footage,” Damien cut her off, his tone sharp.
The conference room screen lit up immediately, and surveillance footage from the train station began to play.
Even with a mask on, Willow recognized her second son, Mac, in an instant.
She didn’t know what had blown up the tires, but the long scratch down the side of the black luxury car? That was definitely her son’s doing.
“I… I… I’m sorry. I didn’t know. The boy in the video is my son, yes, but he’s usually very well–behaved. He would
never scratch a stranger’s car for no reason. There must’ve been a reason.”
Damien watched her face closely, observing every tiny reaction. She didn’t look like she was lying.
He paused, then asked, “Do you know your son knows how to handle explosives?”
“Explosives? That’s impossible! He’s just a child. How could he handle something that dangerous?”
“But those four tires were blown out using precision micro–explosives.”
Willow’s eyes widened, her breath hitching in her throat. After a pause, her brows drew together as realization hit.
“No, wait… I know what you saw, but you misunderstood. That wasn’t an explosive! That was a small firework! My second son likes making fireworks with his great–grandfather. When we left the mountain, his great–grandfather gave him a few handmade ones.”
She bowed her head slightly, voice filled with remorse.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know they could be so destructive. If I had known, I would’ve never let him bring them.”

Willow spoke with such sincerity that it didn’t look like she was lying at all.
Damien stared at her for a long moment, then finally gave a faint nod… he believed her.
Fireworks and explosives worked on the same principles. Handmade fireworks could be dangerous too, especially when crafted by old–school artisans in rural areas. Plus, Nico had already investigated: Willow and her three kids were just an ordinary family. Nothing about them suggested they had the means or motive to pose a threat to him.
He’d overthought it.
Once that guard dropped, his interest in Willow vanished.
He looked down at his phone to check messages, then said blandly to Nico, “You deal with it.”
Nico immediately pulled out the compensation agreement they’d prepared in advance. “Miss Windsor, since you’ve acknowledged that the child in the video is your son, and the evidence is clear… please compensate the damage.”
Sure, a single mother raising three kids was a tough life… but that didn’t exempt her from consequences. Damien wasn’t a charity case. His luxury car had been destroyed, and there was no way he’d just let it slide.
When a child misbehaved, the responsibility fell on the parent. And this was the price of a mother’s failure to educate her child.
Willow’s face darkened.
She still believed Mac wouldn’t damage someone’s car for no reason… but the fact remained, he did. She had to take responsibility.
She bit her lip and asked awkwardly, “H–how much does he want?”
“Fifty million,” Nico replied calmly.
“What?!” Willow’s voice shot up in pitch like it’d been launched from a cannon. “Fifty million?! Why doesn’t he just rob a bank?!”
Nico: “…”
Damien, still scrolling through his texts: “…”
“If you don’t want to settle this privately,” Damien said coldly, “we can call the police.”
Willow’s panic kicked in instantly. “No! Please don’t call the police!”
The evidence was solid, and Mac was clearly at fault. If this went to the cops, she’d be arrested as the guardian… and then what would happen to her kids?
“I just… That car is really worth fifty million?”

“Correct,” Nico nodded. “That’s the current market value.”
Willow took the invoice Nico handed over and nearly fainted on the spot fer face twitched, and her heart sank
“I–I’m not saying I won’t pay. I’m just saying I don’t have that much right now. Could we maybe reduce i
Nico looked to Damien… this decision wasn’t his to make.
Damien gave Willow a cold sideways glance. “How much can you pay?”
Willow hesitated, then mumbled, “F–Five thousand…?”
Damien : “…”
Nico: “…”
Fifty million versus five thousand.
She’d just casually deleted four zeroes like she was doing math homework.
“Call the cops,” Damiensaid icily. “Let the police handle this.”
Damien rose abruptly, clearly done wasting time on Willow.
Panic surged her chest, and she blurted, “Wait!”
He didn’t even glance back, his long strides unfaltering.
Willow bit her lip hard, her heart racing. Then she made a desperate decision and shouted, “If you want money, fine… but take off your clothes first!”
Damien froze.
He turned, his brows pinched. “What?”
“Strip. Take off your coat and shirt. All of it.”
Damien : “…”
Nico and the others: “?!?!?!”
There were countless women who’d tried to seduce their boss before. But this? This was a first.
She didn’t flirt. She didn’t hint.
She straight–up asked him to take off his clothes… in front of a room full of people.

Not only was this woman absurdly beautiful.. she was also absolutely insane
Damien’s jaw clenched, his face darkening like a brewing storm. His sharp gaze sliced through the air as he shared at her and asked slowly, voice like ice,
“Do you have any idea what you’re saying?”
Willow swallowed hard. She was terrified… but she stood her ground.
“I said, if you want me to pay, you’ll have to take your clothes off first.”
Fifty million? She’d never see that much money in her entire life.
But she couldn’t go to jail either. She had kids to raise.
So… she had to know. Was he the man from that night?
If he was, then she’d settle the score right here, right now. That night, in exchange for the so–called “compensation”
He had made her a promise back then.
He told her she would become the happiest, most cherished woman in the world.
She didn’t want his love. She didn’t want his money.
She just wanted this whole mess… cleared.
As for the kids… he didn’t even know they existed. He wouldn’t fight for them.
Once she got that divorce, she’d disappear from Santawill city with the boys and never look back.
No one… not even Damien … would ever find them.
