CHAPTER 61
ARIA’S POV
I need to catch Suzanne red–handed. She’s been slacking off and yet has the audacity to aspire to become a general manager. Just because she’s been with the company for a long time doesn’t automatically qualify her for a promotion. I’ll make sure her lack of dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.
It’s evident that she overheard everything that day and jumped to conclusions. It seems like she’s taken what she heard and spun it into her own twisted narrative. Everywhere she goes, it’s like she’s on a mission to tarnish my reputation.
It’s clear her envy is consuming her, leading her to weave tales of deceit without a second thought.
As I approach the executive club, I catch wind of Suzanne talking about me.
“I was supposed to get that position and here comes the CEO’s mistress snatching it from me.”
Her voice dripping with bitterness, she looks utterly pathetic, consumed by jealousy and resentment.
The other ladies at the club are showering Suzanne with sympathy, believing that she’s been toiling away for years without recognition. They’re quick to offer words of comfort, assuming that her hard work has gone unnoticed and unrewarded.
“Poor you, Suzanne. You’ll get through. Don’t worry.”
Even the daughters of those wealthy women have joined in, attempting to console Suzanne, although she hardly deserves it.
“You just have to spread your legs to get a post. Hard work doesn’t count any more.”
Suzanne is putting on quite the show, seemingly on the brink of tears. But it’s hard not to take her seriously. Her dramatic display feels like a performance worthy of an award.
No one has ever gone this far to tarnish my reputation. Suzanne has taken it upon herself to make my life a public spectacle, spreading vicious lies online, gossiping in clubs, and possibly even more places I’m not yet aware of. Her relentless campaign against me seems boundless, and can feel the walls closing in as her slander spreads like wildfire.
With fury coursing through my veins, I enter the club, my steps purposeful and determined. Spotting Suzanne across the room, I snatch up a glass of water from a nearby table. The liquid sloshes against the sides as I make my way toward her, my heart pounding in my chest. Without hesitation, I raise the glass and with a swift motion, splash its contents onto Suzanne, the water cascading over her in a sudden, shocking torrent.
The suddenness of my action stuns the entire room into silence, and a wave of hushed whispers fills the air as everyone processes what just happened. Eyes widen in astonishment, and murmurs of disbelief echo across the room as they witness the dramatic confrontation. The atmosphere crackles with tension, the mood shifting from jovial chatter to palpable unease in an instant.
“W–what are y–you doing here?”
Suzanne springs to her feet, her expression morphing from defiance to instant apprehension as her eyes meet mine: The air around her seems to deflate, and her once–confident demeanor crumbles in the face of my unwavering gaze.
“I’m here to prove who is the mistress here! Aren’t you happy to see me?”
With fearless determination and boiling anger coursing through me, I stride up to Suzanne, my eyes locked onto

hers. Despite my intense demeanor, Suzanne’s composure falters, and she begins to stutter, her words stumbling over each other in a desperate attempt to explain herself.
“See… She is coming and confirming the news that she is Neal’s mistress. A mistress to all CEOs!”
Despite her initial hesitation, Suzanne gathers her resolve and slurs out more insults directed at me. It’s evident that she’s desperate to maintain her pride and refuses to back down, especially in front of the other women in the room. Her words, though laced with venom, betray a sense of insecurity beneath the bravado.
“You think you can bark anything about, me and I’ll stay quiet?!”
I won’t tolerate being disrespected by this woman any further. If she’s aiming for headlines, then she’ll certainly make them.
“A mistress is what you’re! Good only in bed!”
Furious and ready to slap her for crossing the line, I pause as sudden sounds from the LED screen catch everyone’s attention. The hall falls silent, the tension thick as gasps ripple through the crowd, drawing all eyes to the screen.
