Chapter 45 

“Oh, hey Sky“, he said sadly not in his usual cherry tone. 

“Miles what’s wrong“? 

He opened the door, and I walked in. Darla was sitting there; she had been crying too. 

“Darla, Miles what’s wrong. What happened“? 

“Hi. It’s nothing. I’m just having one of those days“, she said, and I didn’t believe it for a second. I sat down beside her. 

“The day I began working at the club you and Miles became my family. In my whole messed up situation with Dorian the two of you have been beside me helping me put myself together. If it’s anything I can help with you know I will“. I said looking at them. 

They both looked at me. 

“I’m sick. I haven’t been feeling too well for a while, so I went to the doctor last week. I have cancer in my uterus and the outside Lining. I need chemotherapy and surgery to remove my uterus. The Cancer, it’s too advanced. It can’t be done here in Havenwood. I need to travel abroad“, Darla said 

“it’s cost too much. We’ve calculated our savings and what not, but she’ll need close to two million. We…“, Miles said stopping 

short. 

“Did you return the two million to Dorian“? I asked 

“Yes. One day after you gave it to me“, she said. 

“Okay. Don’t cry. I can get the money. I found out today that I am Nila Lancaster. Don’t worry, stop crying please. I’ll take care of this, and I’ll be back tomorrow, okay. I want you to start making preparations to leave“. 

“Skylar no. I can’t ask you to do that. Don’t do anything that could hurt you“, she said 

“You’re not asking. I’m doing what is right. Miles, take care of your aunt I’ll be back in the morning” I said. 

We sat talking for almost two hours and then I left. I was almost to the car when Miles caught up with me. 

“Simon Lancaster tried to rape me. I called Dorian. He broke Simon’s hands. I may regret this Miles, but Dorian is the only, no Asher. I’ve seen him go from being a businessman to an obsessed, deranged Psychopath in seconds and that’s who he truly is Miles. He’s truly Asher and Dorian Sterling is what he shows the world. I’ll be with him Miles, trouble is coming for me and honestly, he’s the only one that can protect me, and I love him“, I said looking at him. 

And he just hugged me. “I know you do baby girl. I don’t think he will hurt you. But I believe he didn’t plan on letting you know yet until he figured out a way to be with you without putting you in danger” he said. 

“Yea I figured that too. Take care of Darla I’ll be back in the morning“. 

“Thank you, Sky. We didn’t want to ask you or let you know. Aunt Darla kind of felt maybe you would think we were using you or something“, he said bashfully. 

“Hey it’s me. I know you and Darla“, 

When I got back to the apartment everything was gone. That’s when remembered I had to go to the other one, so I left and went there. When I walked in, it was clean, and everything was just the way I left it. I walked into the room and my clothes were already put away. As I was leaving, I stopped. In the closet there were t–shirts and sweatpants. What on earth.

Chapter 45 

I grabbed a quick shower and got dressed in an Oversized t–shirt. I checked the fridge and kitchen Cabinets, and they were fully stocked. I didn’t even want to know how he got all this done in time It was already eight in the night. I settled on a quick pasta dish. Thank you, sister Marnie. She was the head cook at the Orphanage and always insisted that I be taught to cook. 

I was standing in front of the stove when I felt arms being wrapped around me. He was taller than me by a lot, he leaned down and rested his head on my shoulders. He kissed my neck.
