Chapter 12
After lying flat at home for a long time, Jessie finally adjusted to the time difference.
Jennifer was somewhat surprised to see her busy with the things she had received from America early in the morning.
“Are you okay?”
Jessie wiped the dust off her suitcase. When it was delivered, the people here bumped and knocked it around, but luckily, the treasures inside were unharmed.
She nodded towards Jennifer while she was busy.
Jennifer pursed her lips and said, “The origins of those photos and videos have been thoroughly cleaned up. It seems like Liam was behind it.”
Jessie was a little surprised, but then she chuckled sarcastically.
“I guess they thought I was dead, and all the grievances came to an end.”
“Is it really that simple to end a grudge?” Jennifer squinted her eyes and looked out the window.
Jessie placed the contents of the suitcase on her desk, with no hint of emotion in her eyes.
After a moment, she spoke softly, “You don’t need to do anything for
I will arrange these things myself.”

Jennifer was a little surprised, but after thinking for a moment, she smiled and looked over at her.
“I didn’t say I was going to do anything, but there’s someone who needs to meet you.”
The sunlight streamed into the room, illuminating the corners with a sparkling radiance.
Jessie went downstairs and immediately saw the man sitting on the couch, elegantly drinking tea.
“It was you!”
She was somewhat surprised, she didn’t expect to see him here.
The man caught sight of her coming out, a fleeting joy quietly crossed his eyes.
“Long time no see, but, what should I call you this time we meet? Niece-in–law? Or Ms. Shepard?”
Jessie chuckled self–deprecatingly, “Alvaro, no wonder Liam couldn’t find you, turns out you’ve been hiding overseas all along.”
Alvaro Foley was considered Liam’s uncle, although the two were only two years apart.
Alvaro was the illegitimate child of the Foley family, and there was no significant difference in status between him and Liam, the stepson.
But in the end, it was Alvaro who had the blood of the Foley family running through his veins. Over the years, if Liam had any concerns, Alvaro was the first and foremost.
Jessie had always known that Liam was looking for someone to investigate Alvaro’s whereabouts, but he searched for a long time and

there was no news at all.
Upon hearing Liam’s name, Alvaro disdainfully curled his lip.
“It’s hard for my eldest nephew to miss me so much.”
“However, he was too stupid!”
Jessie lowered her gaze, the Foley family’s affairs had become irrelevant to her, and she didn’t want to get involved in the conflict between the two uncles and nephews.
“What do you want from me?”
Upon hearing her indifferent voice, Alvaro raised an eyebrow and said, “I had a business proposition I wanted to do with you.”
Jessie looked at him with surprise, “What kind of business can I do with you? If it’s related to the Foley family, then you’ve got the wrong person.”
“It has nothing to do with the Foley family, I know you have been working on intangible cultural heritage projects. I have a gallery that perfectly meets your requirements in terms of location and environment. Would you like to visit together and take a look?”
Jessie stood frozen in place, she hadn’t expected Alvaro, who was far away in another country, to know what she had been doing all along.
Liam was not even aware of the things she had done.
Jessie pondered for a moment and realized that she did indeed need a space to arrange her belongings.
“Is Ms. Shepard afraid that I would deceive you?” Alvaro deliberately provoked her.

Jessie thought for a moment and then looked up at Alvaro.
“Let’s go.”
Jessie picked up her coat and turned towards the entrance.
Behind her, Jennifer curved her lips and gestured a number to Alvaro. Alvaro smiled and nonchalantly took out his phone from his pocket, quickly made a few swipes, and transferred a large sum of money to Jennifer’s account.
