ADAM’S POV
Finally, Aria agrees, and a surge of hope floods my heart. This time, if she comes back, I vow to never let her go again. I’ll go to any lengths to mend our broken relationship. The wait has been agonizing, but I believe my patience will soon be rewarded. As much as I am pained by Grandpa’s state, I see it as a blessing in disguise, a chance to reconcile with Aria and rebuild what we once had
My family doctor visits me, and at first, he checks my report and reads the progress on the log, reassuring me that I am fine.
“You should be out soon. You recovered quickly from the trauma.‘
At least I have some good news today. But why is my doctor looking at me like that, as if he has something important to disclose?
“Is something the matter, doctor?”
“Actually, I’m here to talk to you about something important.”

“Is Grandpa alright?”
“Don’t worry about him. He is alright now. Um…”
He tries to comfort me about Grandpa, but there’s a hesitation in his voice that makes my stomach churn with anxiety. I press him to speak, my heart pounding in my chest. When he finally spills the beans, the weight of his revelation hits me like a freight train, leaving me reeling and struggling to process the news.
“What?”
“Yes, it’s true. Sophia approached me with a large sum of money to conceal this fact from you.”
“She’s indeed three months‘ pregnant and so easily you changed it to one?”
Fury boils within me as I realize that our trusted family doctor has listened to an outsider, wreaking havoc on my life. How could someone we relied on so completely betray us like this? The betrayal cuts deep, filling me with a mix of anger and disbelief.
“No, I refused to help her. But I told her I won’t say anything to you.”
At the very least, he could have clarified beforehand instead of driving me mad with worry. He explains in clear terms how, after diagnosing Sophia last time at my place, he uncovered the truth. Initially, he had doubted his findings, but Sophia’s attempt to bribe him into changing her initial report confirmed his suspicions.
I can’t believe what I’m hearing. Sophia has been playing a big game with me, and I fell for it hook, line, and sinker. The realization hits me like a ton of bricks, leaving me feeling betrayed and utterly deceived.
As he continues, he insists on his loyalty to me and my family, urging me to be cautious about not ending up raising a child who isn’t mine. The mixed emotions swirl within me, balancing between anger, confusion, and a growing sense of betrayal.
“Thanks for telling me, doctor.”
Once the doctor leaves, I find myself endlessly pondering that night with Sophia. Something truly feels off. No matter how hard I try to remember, I can’t recall actually having had sex with her.

I remember waking up naked with Sophia lying next to me also nude and it did not feel like I had had sex with her.
As I try to piece together the events of that fateful night, panic sets in. The last thing I remember is being at the hotel bar, having a few drinks, and then feeling dizzy. The next day, I was hit with the shock of my life. When I left Sophia behind and returned home, I tried to push the episode out of my mind, hoping to forget about it. That is, until Sophia dropped the bombshell of her pregnancy which caused my divorce with Aria.
“Three months pregnant?”
I murmur to myself in disbelief, feeling a rising sense of confusion. I need to dig deeper. Sophia’s belly is already showing, and whenever I questioned if it was too early for one month, she would insist that the baby is big and healthy. Something just doesn’t add up.
I decide to call my assistant immediately, to inform him to pull out some very important information about Sophia.
“I need every single details on what she has been up to for the past three months.”
